VICTORY

Two women smiling, one holding a sign that says "FUND COMMUNITY SAFETY".

In 2025, CCJRC’s Get Real Denver campaign secured $6 million from the City of Denver for a 2 year pilot of the Community-Led Youth Safety Grant Program

This established the city’s first dedicated investment in community-based, prevention-driven safety solutions.

THE PROBLEM

YEAR AFTER YEAR, DENVER POURS RESOURCES INTO POLICING AND JAILS.

But over-relying on a reactive system doesn’t prevent violence or repair harm. Proven community programs in prevention, interruption, victim support, and recidivism reduction remain underfunded, leaving our city less safe than it could be.

THE SOLUTION

HOW CAN DENVER GET REAL ABOUT PUBLIC SAFETY?

Get Real Denver is a coalition of residents and organizations urging city leaders to invest in real safety. That means funding community-led programs that prevent crime, interrupt violence, support victims, and reduce repeat offenses. These solutions address harm at the roots and build stronger, safer neighborhoods for everyone.

LET’S GET REAL

Denver needs sustained investment in the trusted relationships, cultural understanding, and on-the-ground experience that only community can bring.

Let’s get real about safety.
Let’s build it together.
